April 2nd-Getting the Garden Ready

Today we mixed the soil for our newest square foot garden and refreshed the old ones with compost.  We added new sand to our sandbox and spent all morning outside!  What did you do today?

  1. We planted seed, rode our bikes, laid out and watched the clouds, and went to the fair! It was gorgeous out!

  4. We went to the River Trail Nature Center to see the fox, bald eagle, and owls that live there. We played in the "pretend" log cabin, and hung out by the river for a little while. My kids can't wait to go back! It was only fifty degrees, but sunny, and nobody really noticed it was chilly!

We climbed through amazing wire spirals, tree branches, cave tunnels and cave dragons, slid down 10 and 3 story slides...got our knees, elbows and everything else bruised, scraped and had the most awesome time...We never stopped smiling All day!I hope you all get to visit this wonderful multistory indescribable museum Some day! :) Tomorrow The Arch ! We're suppose to have winds of 8-25 mph winds with 40mph wind gusts possible...and we're going 630ft Up ...yikes ;)

  6. I took a walk with my four year old. Ron worked on preparing the gardens with the older two. The boys also played in the yard much of the day. It was a nice day and today is supposed to be even better.

  7. We went to the Savannah River with our boat! It was the first time we went this season, so all we did was ride with a bag from Chick-fil-A dinner. Beautiful!

  8. On April 2, I worked a bake sale to help raise funds for the relief effort in Japan - we raised over $11K here in Austin! X and the Dad spent the day working in the front yard and riding the Kid's tricycle around the neighborhood.
