April 9th-Petting Zoo
We spent a fun afternoon outside at a local petting zoo today. We had also planned to go to the park, but the weather was not safe. We still made more than our 30 minutes, luckily. What did you do?
It hit the mid 80s today. It was sunny and windy. Sounds like we might have storms overnight and off and on tomorrow. We took advantage of the weather today and played a lot. We had an auction on the adjoining land, so we set up a refreshment stand and made ten bucks. The boys also played in the sand, rode big wheels, climbed, ran around. They are exhausted. We didn't get naps and played outside nearly all day. I even got three loads of laundry on the line.
We've decided to start exploring local playgrounds! We hit the first one today and barely got our 30 minutes in before the rain hit. But we had a ton of fun!
We played outside for most of the day today. When we needed a break from the heat, we came in to get drinks and read books for a while, then back outside to play. The only housework done was clothes hung on the line, but we didn't mess up the house since we were outside. We ended the day with homemade ice cream on the porch!
I can't wait to get to a petting zoo with my kids during the challenge. I had been holding off on doing anything costly due to the possibility of a government shutdown - we are a one-income military family and I was worried that we wouldn't be getting a paycheck. Now that the worry is gone I am hoping to explore all the great opportunities Ohio has to offer. :)

ReplyDeletewind gusts of 40 mph and very rainy weather kept us inside, but we participated in a church Easter activity.
