Did You Come Outside to Play?
Did you come outside to play with us? What were your experiences? What were your challenges? Your joys? What new games did you play? What new places did you discover? Did you make it every day? Most days? Was is hard or easy? I want to hear from you! Please comment or link up your experiences. I will randomly select a participant from the comments and links to win the $30 gift card to Amazon.com. (If you joined us at the beginning of April, shared on your facebook page, or blogged about the challenge, or linked up any time this month to our virtual play dates, those entries are entered as well). I look forward to hearing about your experiences!

We did it!! All 30 days through over 60 cm of snow in our city this month! It did help we got away for 10 of those to Hawaii, but we came back to snow too! We rode bikes, played on swings, lots of walks, met up with playmates and more. This challenge was a good reminder for me, as mom, to make the effort daily.
ReplyDeleteI loved this! I will say that I think the weather was definitely kind to us. (Despite horrific tornadoes just miles away) Each and every day had at least 30 minutes of calm and beauty that we were able to enjoy! We discovered so many new things and places both in our yard and our neighborhood. We got to spend so much fun time with friends. This is definitely a month to remember!
ReplyDeleteThis is my first time to your blog, so I didn't know about your outdoor challenge, but I love it! I'm following you know on GFC. We play outside lots and the weather has been great where we live. I linked up a picnic we had outside on Earth Day...but another fun thing we did was painting with water outside...on the ground, the side of the house, the picnic table, etc. My 4 yr. old loved it!
ReplyDeleteWe had a blast with the challenge! Thank you so much for helping provide some motivation. ;)
ReplyDeleteWe didn't make it out every day, but we made it out a lot! I think we missed 3-4 days the whole month because of bad weather or the kids being sick. Like other people said though, we did go out on days that we probably wouldn't have normally and it was nice to always have the reminder in my head. Whenever my kids would get bored and we would be going crazy in the house I would think "I guess it's time to go outside." Thanks for doing this. I hope to continue this all the rest of the spring and summer-if summer ever decides to grace Idaho with it's presence :)
ReplyDeleteWe had so much fun this month. We love playing outside, but it was nice to have a little reminder of the importance of outdoor time! I also really enjoyed your book recommendations! Thanks for encouraging all to be out more with your kids!
ReplyDeleteWe did it! We missed 2 days because my dd was very sick. A few of the rainy days it was tough though! We went for walks, park days, & jumped in puddles. We rode bikes, swings, scooters, did some homeschooling with sidewalk chalk & played with the neighborhood kids.
ReplyDeleteThis is my first visit to your blog, I'm a new follower! What a great challenge!!!!!
ReplyDeleteOne of our favorite things to do outside is to paint with water, especially paint rollers on the house
